A feng shui consultant works with the ancient Chinese practice. He or she will use the principles to create a better, more positive energy flow in people's homes. These consultants operate on the philosophy that energy enters a home through the mouth of the chi, or the front door. The energy then moves through the home and is aided by certain objects and hindered by others. An ancient map, called the Ba'Gua is used by feng shui consultants and those who practice feng shui. This map helps to determine the relationship between certain elements like creativity, romance, wealth, travel and more.
A feng shui consultant, when they visit your home or office, will assess the current state of energy flow and harmony. He or she will then help you rearrange your furniture such that your life is more in line with feng shui. A feng shui consultant will read ancient charts and ask direct, pointed questions of the inhabitants regarding their personal lives. They will go into each room, to analyze the decor, arrangement, set up and other factors to determine the origins of undesirable things that happen to people such as financial disaster, weight gain and depression. By rearranging the different objects and changing colors in rooms, energy is optimized and this is likely to promote relaxation of the mind, body and spirit while relieving disharmony and stress.
A meeting with a certified feng shui consultant often entails more than just the consultant walking through the home. Usually the clients are asked to complete a detailed personal questionnaire. This questionnaire asks very personal questions on items ranging from physical health to career fulfillment. It helps the consultant to better understand the client's expectations of their feng shui experience.
After an assessment of the home and after fully analyzing the questionnaire, the feng shui consultant will make recommendations as well as educate the clients on the practice of feng shui. Often, one of the first issues that is tackled is that of clutter. Clutter is not conducive to good feng shui. The next step is to convey to the clients that the strongest part of feng shui is the belief and intention that is behind it. The consultant will also stress to the clients that moving a few objects around will not automatically change their lives. There is much more to it and it involved subscribing to the beliefs of the practice.
Being a feng shui consultant can be a very exciting, interesting and rewarding job. It allows you to help others and practice a philosophy that has existed for literally thousands of years.
